Y’all, when a potential employer/hiring manager asks, “What is something about you that you can/would like to improve,” a lot of y’all take the question as if they’re asking you about a personal flaw you have & what you’re doing to address it.

Don’t do that to yourselves.
I hear a lot of folks try to answer the question with things like, “I’d like to multitask better,” or “I overwork myself, I’m trying to find a work-life balance.”

Even if it’s what a employer/hiring manager intends to look for, don’t give them that.

They have no right to it.
A lot of folks approach this question with self-criticism on things that make them a human being. You don’t need to make yourself less of a person for them.

Instead, feed them your ambition.

“I’d like to develop greater skills in case management,” or, “I’m learning to code.”
There are some employers that will try to twist the question further into pressuring you to answer with some personal flaw.

You don’t give them that.

You bring forth another ambition or skill set you’d like to *advance* toward.
If you’re applying for a position where you’ll already meet the expectations, aim for the next level & discuss that.

This gives them both a short gauge of your willingness to succeed at the job & simultaneously boosts your own confidence & displays it boldly.

You deserve that.
