I think about this image a lot, and the response, like, a lot.

I think that young people think that the AIDS Crisis was like, over, by this point, or was at least on the way down, but it was not.

The deadliest year for the AIDS Crisis was 1995. https://twitter.com/mitskifan42/status/1307760175705714688
Not that I actually give a shit if gay men say 'dyke' when a) the name of the march is the Dyke March and b) they're showing up to support us, I only give a shit if they're using it hurtfully, but like...

... we had bigger fucking problems in 1993.
We did not have fifteen year olds on Twitter dot com telling grown-ass adults that the slurs we reclaimed for ourselves were 'inappropriate' or what the fuck ever, that our allies could not joke with us when they came out to support us.
In 1993, I was 16. I promise you, if I had walked up to any of these adults and told them they could not use the word dyke, they would have RIGHTLY told me to shut my damn mouth and do some fucking work worth doing.

So that's what I'm going to say to all of y'all kids.
Stop obsessing over 'who can say what words,' and start doing some work which materially benefits your community. We have bigger fucking problems, and I'm completely over this discourse.
