"Born in the wrong body" is like "I have a splitting headache". Clearly expresses discomfort, but anyone taking it literally is either dumb beyond belief or bad faith. Both are fine poetic descriptions. Neither are literal or medical descriptions. Obviously
I'm not going to start getting angry at trans people using it just because a load of GC people are pretending to take it literally. No one is literally born in the wrong body. But dysphoria is trash and hard to describe to cis people when you haven't been taught the words to
It doesn't matter if a random trans person can't describe dysphoria. Most people can't accurately describe the conditions they have. Not everyone is a doctor or a poet. That doesn't mean their condition is not a thing just because they can't personally describe it to you
I can't believe how stupid some of the replies to this are
This has been my position on it pretty much since the first time I heard it, and I've said so publicly before more than once. It's so, so obviously not literal
Trans people have had varying opinions on this for decades
