literally asks him to, extending an arm out around Lance as a makeshift shield. it’s the ardent desire to just do Everything he can to protect this boy, which gives him the adrenaline he needs to stay awake, stay alert, be on guard at all times. Lance, despite the circumstances,+

seems to relax under Keith’s care, as far he could tell. Keith also notices the way Lance’s shoulders appear to slump a little when Keith moves close to him, sensing familiarity in Keith’s presence enough that he doesn’t feel on edge the entire time they’re trekking through the +
