1. A TWO HOUR LUNCH BREAK (2016)

I think this encapsulates the best of my last works before switching fulltime to drawing. Made to accompany a friend’s short film called ‘Customer Satisfaction’ about a food server getting revenge on a bad customer.

But when it comes to capturing both the Highs and Lows of my musical works, there is none other than this personal favorite, which has one of my favorite melody lines *EVER* as well, despite a drum & bass lacking in punch.

You know what song didn’t lack punchiness? This one!! Of *course* my 66th song would sound memey. THE CHALLENGE is to not find it catchy. I know I’m not an expert, but I know where my musical strengths are. C: Art by @/thanshuhai <3

And SPEAKING of musical strengths...if nothing else, boiled down to its basic parts, I *knew* how to write catchy as hell music. (This one might be the most happy go lucky of all.)

5. THE UNEARTHING OF THE GATES (2013)

But happy and relaxing music wasn’t all that I wanted to be known for...I wanted to grow and branch out. This song was the first time anything I’ve made was described as an eargasm (thank you, Zun <3)

6. POLARIS (2013)

But to find something epic, I need not look further than my earliest, and biggest success at the time...my 27th song ever, and first of a handful of collabs with @/thanshuhai. If you knew my music back in 2013, it was because of Polaris.

NONE of my newer works came close to Polaris’s popularity, and I judged myself for it. nowadays, I realize it’s my *own* love that matters— and this unpopular song of mine I love has only aged more gracefully. <3

8. YAKAPANG DAIGDIG (2016)

This song helped me get the Best Music at Pelikultura 2017 (let me shed modesty for it just today!). I’m not even sure if the name/pun makes sense in Tagalog, but I love it!! It’s *supposed* to mean ‘a world hug.’

Sometimes I go back to a song and wonder “wtf I actually made that??” This original composition of mine does fill me with this wonder...I don’t think it’s wrong to be so proud of my own works. The somber mood helps.

This was the first time since Polaris (song #27!!) that my longtime ‘artner in crime, @thanshuhai and I joined forces just for fun, to create a music & art collaboration. To this day, I can’t say we’ve topped ourselves yet with another collab.

‘A Place for Echoes’ was magical.

As 2015 went on, in line with the changes in my real life, I made music less and less, and kept drawing more. At least I made this beauty before I stopped.
