my aesthetic is teenage Odette sprawled in an armchair reading by candlelight in a huge palace
also, quick question, but who the fuck is Odette's mom and what happened to her??? the narrator is just like "a daughter was born!!!"

um?? from the ether???
Uberta is described as a widow but Odette's mom is literally NEVER EVEN IMPLIED. did William just knock up a servant and then be like "ta daaa, an heir"
The Swan Princess is a study in how men may feel deep emotions but often do not have the emotional intelligence to articulate them, causing their partners to feel objectified and undervalued. In this essay I will
actually I think it's interesting that the movie addresses this question of how to "prove" that you love someone — in the beginning, Odette asks him to verbalize his feelings, and he can't. He sets off on a quest to "prove" his feelings, which he enacts with such conventionally-
-masculine actions as hunting, tracking, & fighting, as well as making a public proclamation to prove his love to others. In the end, what truly "proves" his love is telling Odette, with words, what he loves about her.

"I love you for your kindness and courage. I always have."
I think on the surface this movie can LOOK very shallow and, in many ways, like it upholds a lot of flawed and even sexist tropes in fairy tales. But ultimately I feel like a key message is that love means learning to be vulnerable and communicative with your partner.
tell me Odette's transformation isn't the prettiest animation concept in the history of princesses, I'LL WAIT
....what kind of accent is Puffin supposed to have?? It sounds like he's trying to be.... Irish? but like, very badly?
anyway I’ve completed the project I was working on while watching! this was fiddly but worth it 🙏
princesses on parade cosplay group when??
seriously though, I know NO ONE would recognize or care about a group like this, but....... I have FEELINGS about this
Rothbart is like "gotta make a fake Odette.... but evil. but no one can know she's evil. I know!!! I'll put her in the classic pure & innocent colors of black and red!"
I don't really understand why Odette... like... dies?? If Derek pledges his love to another? That was never articulated as part of the curse and also doesn't seem to benefit Rothbart at all??
I love how even though this movie plays on the "we're instantly in love!! let's get married!" trope, ultimately Derek and Odette fall in love because they've grown up together and actually know each other very well. In a lot of movies, the final "princess gets married" scene--
--feels rushed, or like a big leap from their previous relationship, but this just makes a lot of sense. They've known each other for like... easily a decade? And then when they matured enough to see each other differently, their relationship developed. That's like!! normal!!
It's been __0__ days since I cried over the happy ending of an animated classic
I desperately want to redo this cosplay, but here are a few photos from a zillion years ago by @Torremitsu!
