Just realized I forgot to reply to this by @derocrates https://humanevents.com/2020/09/21/wartime-conservatives-against-appeasement/
First of all, I think the "wartime conservatism" rhetoric is ludicrous and takes us further down a disastrous path.
Second :Daniel Addison ignores (except in passing) my main point, which is that having Trump champion "anti-wokeness" will inevitably alienate large numbers of "anti-woke" (or at least wokeness-skeptical) liberals/moderates & convince many undecideds that anti-wokeness = racism
Basically, Daniel's argument is "Yes, we're at war with the 'woke' far left so it's GOOD Trump drives them nuts, even if means more polarization & societal chaos"
Again, my focus is on the effect on liberals/moderates, not far left. Support for "woke" views has grown under Trump

Over 2/3 of Americans believe Trump makes race relations worse. So it's definitely NOT productive to have him on your side to fight "anti-racism" extremists.
Maybe the issue is that Daniel thinks Trump really is "pushing back against PC" on issues like immigration, while most think he's pushing racism & xenophobia ("people from shithole countries," "how is it where she came from" etc.) Pro-immigration sentiment has grown under Trump.
So ultimately there's probably no point in debate because I think it's overwhelmingly clear Trump traffics in racist demagoguery and Daniel apparently thinks that's a bum rap.
Lastly -- I don't "counsel appeasement" as Daniel implies, I counsel pushback that doesn't involve hitching your cause to a race-baiting demagogue.
