If you don't have more than enough money and someone is not paying for an event center for you, why borrow and waste 250k-500k to have a reception when you can have same in front of your house, that is if you must have one?

I didn't have a bicycle when I got married and didn't ask anyone to give me a vehicle for my marriage. When we were done, I simply asked one of my inlaws to go get a vehicle from the garage in Ekpoma to take my wife and I to Agenebode. Simple. Don't put your burden on others.
