đź—ł Okay, that worked! Votebeat is happening: a pop-up newsroom of local reporters covering voting and election administration before and after Nov 3. If the potential of a disputed election has you concerned, keep reading. https://twitter.com/elizwgreen/status/1303743319499878400
This project is happening thanks to the generosity of donors, First Amendment attorneys, @ProPublica’s Electionland project, @PENAmerica, @AmPress, @ElectionSOS, @Chartbeat, @INN, and support from a whole big slew of newsroom partners we’ll share in the coming days.
Among the states reporters will cover: Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey -- states where voting and election administration will be under an intense spotlight with, so far, far too few reporters dedicated to covering it.
We still need to hit our $1 million target to ensure we’re able to get reporters on the ground in every battleground state we’ve identified where election administration demands coverage. If you’d like to make a financial contribution, you can do so here. https://forms.gle/z9gj3SpasvZyRSVa7
Next week, we’ll share more information about our project team and our newsroom partners. The team at @Chalkbeat never fails to impress me with its willingness and ability to rise to the occasion. Thank you.
