why are evolutionary psychologists all morons? someone should perform a material, psychoanalytic, & systemic analysis of why that is. i mean, i know psychology is already basically pseudoscience on its own, so maybe they’re just lost in the weeds. idk

psychology is the descendant of phrenology basically, they just moved from physical patterns on the face to patterns in behavior

anyway, the point is that they end up stopping at the individual level and never looking further into it, almost never taking the material conditions and societal conditions into account, which at least in my experience is why they’re wrong about basically everything

they try to treat societal problems at the individual level, without even identifying the problems themselves, which sounds like a bad joke. but they do it everyday! not good

people don’t like it when i go on about this lol but i know i’m right because i have personal experiences with this sort of thing that make it completely clear

the thoughts you think emerge out of material conditions you’re in, and sit in the part of your brain which structures that environment. and when you go to a new environment, move to a new city or something, it’s kinda like a fresh start in certain ways for parts of your thinking

so. evo psych misses the point i guess by putting way too much emphasis on historical biology when they should actually be looking at the place thoughts and feelings come from (at least before someone has a mind palace/internal world), which is the world itself

your thoughts and feelings come from the external world until you reach a point of self-awareness, at which point you can start to consciously structure internal worlds as new “plateaus” for your thought in addition to the flow of information still coming from outside
