yesterday the secret service showed up at my job because they think i’m a member of ANTIFA: A THREAD
it started with a tweet (that i was asked to delete) expressing extreme disdain for Donald Trump and his entire administration
within 5 hours of tweeting, the secret service showed up at my apartment, i was at work and no one was home, so they came to my job
they told me they knew everything about me, and listed facts about my life: my first therapist (20 years ago), my arrest, my mental health diagnosis, my medication, my venmo transactions, etc; they quizzed me on other things to see if i would lie
they asked what i do in my spare time, and tried to bait me into admitting to being involved in illegal activity— i told them i volunteer and read and they kept asking questions to shape the conversation against me
they asked about my political involvement & showed me things I had retweeted and told me they “know” I’m a member of ANTIFA, and when i laughed in their faces and explained the difference between ideology and organization, one of them asked if i was suicidal
they asked me four different times in four different ways if I want to die, as if saying no the first time wasn’t good enough, they asked me about my ties to Israel (i visited SIX years ago)
they asked about why i checked out a copy of Mein Kampf (by Hitler) from the library and insinuated my jewish heritage wasn’t a good enough reason to educate myself on my own history
they attempted to bait me into discussing antifa further so i gladly explained why i’m happy to spend my tax dollars explaining something they can google
we discussed the fear around antifa being caused by the emergence of -you guessed it- a fascist leader & one of the men told me that he could tell i was an anti fascist because of my tattoos (points to my legend of zelda tattoo because he’s a moron)
they asked questions that i wouldn’t even answer for my therapist and showed me more about myself and what i’m involved in than i even realized
