1) OCAK - JANUARY

Ocak is a Turkish word which means stove. This name is given because January is the month people burn their stoves to warm up since it gets very cold.
2) ŞUBAT - FEBRUARY

Comes from the Assyrian word ‘Şabat’ which means ‘the day people rest’
3) MART - MARCH

Coming from the Latin word ‘mensis Martius’, this month was dedicated to Roman War of God Mars, it has been said that this month was the best time to declare a war during that time
4) NİSAN - APRIL

Nisan is a Sumerian word which means ‘first fruit’. It is the month in which the weather gets warmer and fruits start to mature.
5) MAYIS - MAY

It comes from the Latin word ‘Maius’ which is related to Greek Goddess Maia. By giving this name, Romans thought the upcoming summer season would be opulent.
