And I wonder if this just leads to cops doing other, worse illegal things, since there are no consequences for their actions, ever.
I think most people, in general, a consequence-driven, and know what they can get away with. EG, drivers don't want a speeding ticket, but they want to drive fast, so they drive over the speed limit, but not fast enough to get a ticket.
But if drivers knew that they wouldn't get a speeding ticket until they were 50 mph over the speed limit, they'd probably drive much faster than the 5-10 mph over the speed limit than they do now.
But if cops can get away, with, ya know, racist christmas trees, shooting people in their apartments, beating and blinding protesters, why on earth would they be bothered with following any laws, especially traffic/parking laws.
