All students in 2 halls of residence must self isolate for 14 days. This affects more than 1700 students. Staff haven’t been notified by email though some have been alerted to this by line managers telling them that foundation and first year teaching is online from Monday
Staff have been f2f teaching students from these halls. Don’t they deserve to be notified abt this decision in order to be able to make informed decisions abt who they see & what they do over the weekend? And huge sympathy to the students in this miserable & avoidable situation.
UPDATE: staff received an email just before midnight last night. Nothing in it to suggest staff health or wellbeing is a priority. The university is still insisting on F2F for students in 2nd&3rd years. How many ppl will have to catch Covid-19 for them to change course?
