here are some more bird friends from today& #39;s banding session! (possibly the last for the season https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ˜„" title="EnttĂ€uschtes, aber erleichtertes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: EnttĂ€uschtes, aber erleichtertes Gesicht">) https://twitter.com/_hannahem_/status/1307759212949368832">https://twitter.com/_hannahem...
a cute young robin!
a couple ovenbirds
a couple more magnolia warblers!
a Downy woodpecker!
a sassy ruby-crowned kinglet! our first of the season too!
more Carolina wrens of course!
my first black-throated green warbler in the hand!
an American goldfinch cutie!
a tufted titmouse!
a handsome male northern cardinal! (and also a young male who was extremely rude & bitey)
and a gray-cheeked/Bicknell& #39;s thrush! (these species are extremely difficult to separate, and especially when you& #39;re banding at the southern end of the breeding range for Bicknell& #39;s during migration)
And a quick reminder that birds should be named for their features, not people. #BirdNamesForBirds
