I wish I could tattoo onto every anti-woke leftoid’s forehead the Lee Atwater quote where he admits they use racism to convince white workers to vote against their class interests
The anti-woke premise is that somehow white workers who lack class consciousness have never had their class interests appealed to. These hypothetical workers are just all empty-headed himbos who’ve never heard of unions, or something
That they just need to be appealed to on a class basis to be won over, that they’ve never heard these arguments before in their lives.

But the neoliberal project was sold to white workers who *had* unions and pensions, who had been used to class appeals!
And they chose racism! They chose it over their class interests! They heard *both* appeals and made a choice!
The anti-woke history only works somehow if neoliberalism was invented and sold not by racist demagogues but by Obamaite liberals. But that’s just not the history.

I mean, fuck, Clinton was racist as shit when he ran!
These idiots are so committed to projecting the present moment and their own personal experience of the world back into history onto all people they can’t even remember that Clinton liberal used to mean anti-woke!
Clinton was the perfect embodiment of packaging up neoliberal policy that hollowed out the working class with overt anti-blackness and selling it to white voters
Neoliberal project begins to gain power in America with Nixon, for fuck’s sake.

The last president to support class-based programs to redistribute wealth, LBJ, also signed the fucking Civil Rights Act.
They just have their history entirely fucking backwards. They have imagined some inverted, impossible world where neoliberalism was sold to the white working class of the 1970s by appealing to ANTI-racism?!???
The people rioting over busing?? This is who was persuaded to go along with the neoliberal project out of fear of being called racist? Really?
I guarantee you every single anti-woke “leftist” on this website would’ve been taken in completely by Bill Clinton in 1992. Every one of them.
