🎉 While you've been gone, South Station Transportation Center improvements have continued. Temporary changes may impact the way you access rail/bus service until direct terminal connections are completed.

Here's what's changed 👇
Where are we in the timeline? We're in stage 1️⃣ of this 5️⃣ year project.

During each stage, some entrances/exits to South Station will change & our trains may arrive/depart from different tracks than what is typical.

Follow along below to see what's changed so far ⬇️
🛤️ To increase the size of the concourse & accommodate flow of passengers all tracks will be shortened. This process has already begun.

🚶 Trains on tracks 1-8 now stop farther from the main station entrance. Please allow extra travel time for the longer walk down the platform.
‼️ All trains boarding on Track 13 are accessible from the platform shared with Track 12. The platform on the east side of Track 13 is closed (closest to the post office) and is now part of the construction zone.
🚆↔️🚍 The path from the Red & Silver Line to the bus terminal has changed. Please use Track 2 & follow signage to access the bus terminal.
Accessible Ramp Updates:

♿🚫 The accessible ramp from Track 1 to Atlantic Ave adjacent to the bus terminal is closed. Please use the indoor ramp, within the bus terminal, further down the platform.

More 👇
👉 A new accessible ramp on Atlantic Avenue, leading to Track 1, has been built, adjacent to the old ramp’s location.
👉 A new accessible ramp on Summer Street leads to the main station concourse.
Extended work:
🔹 The canopy above the concourse is currently being removed. This process will continue into other stages.
🔹 In upcoming months, as the construction zone is extended, five sets of new bi-fold doors will be open at the end of the concourse closest to Track 1.
Since March, as an important effort to improve passenger safety and ensure trains depart on time, track info is removed from the terminal boards one minute prior to all train departures.

⌚ Please remember to allow plenty of time to safely board your train.
