What would you tell your younger self?

I would say:

Your father will put on a uniform daily, your family motto will be duty, honor, & country. In your home, the constitution will live & breathe, and to protect it your family will sacrifice much...
🧵2/8

You will watch as your father departs to foreign lands to defend and protect our constitution and to forge the path of democracy, and to secure it around the world.

You will be there to welcome him home... and that home will be where they send you.
🧵3/8

You will know that people are divided in only one way. That they are either Army green, or they are not. That is the division between those who are family and those you fight to serve. No one is more or less than another. We are ALL American and we stand strong together...
🧵4/8

You will learn that American democracy does NOT come free. That the blood of our soldiers, the sacrifices of their families, and the tears of a nation have been offered as payment from the beginning and will continue to be offered in all the years to come...
🧵5/8

You will learn that you, who were drafted at birth, will serve honorably in the US Army as a family member and be abruptly discharged (aged out) without ceremony or thanks on your 18th (or 23rd) birthday. Forced to adult in a civilian world that will seem foreign to you...
🧵6/8

There will come a time when your civilian self will have to use your military brat strength, resilience, and your senses of honor and duty to rally those around you to fight a threat against American democracy...
🧵7/8

This new threat to democracy will come from the oval office, it will be supported by some in the halls of justice, the chambers of the house, the senate, and other government agencies. It will be fed, fueled, & celebrated by our adversaries and will grieve our allies...
🧵8/8

You will be called upon & I encourage you to recruit others. Resist, stand strong, speak out, and never give up the fight.

Vote for those who understand & respect, Democracy, the Constitution, the American people & those who dream of becoming American.

Vote Biden!
