Sept. 25, 2020

Four more Iowans have died from coronavirus, pushing total deaths in Iowa from this disease to 1,303.

Deaths were reported in Calhoun, Harrison, Linn, and Marion Counties.

Please mourn the dead, support loved ones and caregivers, and help stop the spread!
In addition to four more deaths, Iowa reports that hospitalizations are up to 330 - highest level since late May!

That includes 87 patients in intensive care units and 35 on ventilators.

There were 69 new admissions to Iowa hospitals during the last 24-hour reporting period.
Between 10 am Sept. 24 and 10 am Sept. 25, there were another 1,086 Iowans reported with confirmed cases of COVID-19, pushing Iowa's total to 84,433.

Subtracting deaths (1,303) and "recoveries" (62,594), there are 20,536 active cases in Iowa - one out of every 154 Iowans!
The 1,086 new cases were confirmed on 6,844 reported tests (up from 758,501 to 765,345) - that's a rate of tests reported showing COVID-19 of 15.9%.

If state updates number of Iowa kids under age 18 who have tested positive, as scheduled, I'll update that later in this thread.
