Why the "LeBron James was robbed of the NBA& #39;s 2020 League MVP" is the stupidest narrative in the history of basketball not just because of it being a stupid take but also because it challenges every MVP ever won. A thread
The NBA MVP is a REGULAR SEASON AWARD. I can& #39;t stress that enough. None of what LeBron is doing right now in the playoffs contributed to league MVP voting. Voting also didn& #39;t include the seeding games despite those technically being regular season games.
Now the actual arguments for both sides. Since Giannis won the award we& #39;ll start with him first. Giannis in the 2019-20 Regular Season put up:
30PPG (29.5), 14REB(13.6), 6AST(5.6) on 55FG%, 30FG3%, 63FG2% and 63FT%. Great numbers. He also won the DPOY this season.

Giannis also won DPOY which is key here. He was able to make a winning impact on both ends better than LeBron. MVP also doesn& #39;t include your offensive bag. Did Tim Duncan not deserve the 2002 MVP because Kobe had a way better offensive bag?
That leads into the historical part. If LeBron was robbed of MVP this year it challenges every MVP ever won including LeBron& #39;s own MVP& #39;s. Did LeBron deserve the 2010 MVP LeBron stans? By your criteria which includes

He was barely above average in 3PT shooting, was a drive maniac, and choked in the ECSF. Did Steph Curry deserve the 2016 MVP? He really had the same bag as James Harden that year, was pretty much just a creator, and choked in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Did Kobe Bryant deserve the 2008 MVP? He had worse stats than LeBron, didn& #39;t shoot it as efficiently as LeBron and choked in the 2008 NBA Finals.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the NBA& #39;s 2020 League MVP. It wasn& #39;t even close. The stats, the defense, the record, it all went in favor of Giannis.
