Quick look ahead to Serie C, which starts this weekend.

Serie C/C is being touted as the group of death (perhaps literally in Trapani's case) but the title race in Serie C/A and C/B could be tighter.
Serie C/C: Front-runners

Alessandra have recruited better than anyone, but Carrarese continue to stockpile attacking talent.

Not sure what to expect from Juve U23 (inconsistent last season). Smaller sides Pontedera & Renate should remain in chasing group, as should Novara.
Surprise package:

Olbia continue to hoover up promising youths from Cagliari, but Lecco might outshine them. They've done their business early and should earn a playoff spot at least: maybe more. Como might yet make a late splurge.
Relegation fodder:

Livorno have a shell of a squad, but impending(?) investment should pull them out of trouble.

Promoted trio of Pro Sesto, Grosseto & Lucchese have perhaps done enough activity to stay out of trouble.

Giana Erminio (readmitted) look favourites for the drop.
Serie C/B:

Nowhere is Serie C's divide between the haves and have-nots starker than in C/B, where regional powerhouses (Perugia, Padova, Cesena) square off against relative village sides (Matelica, Legnago, Fermana).
Front-runners:

While Sambenedettese, Sudtirol, Feralpisalo & Triestina will doubtless occupy the higher echelons, Perugia's squad remains at a Serie B level. They'll be disappointed if they don't win it at a canter.
Surprise package:

Modena declined to participates in last seasons playoffs & proceeded to strengthen their squad immediately. Scappini guarantees goals & Pergreffi is a fine defensive addition. Expect a high playoff position.
Relegation fodder:

Legnago. While Mantova knew of their promotion months ago, and Matelica have now been solid for a couple of seasons in D, Legnago never expected to be playing at this level until a month ago. Ravenna also readmitted, but look to have recruited well.
Serie C/C: Front-runners

It's Bari vs Palermo. And whereas Palermo have enlisted an array of options up front, Bari should be solid enough to clinch the division at the 2nd time if asking. Reggina enjoyed a freak season last season, which no one is likely to repeat.
Surprise package:

Virtus Francavilla go into another season with Pérez & Vázquez up front, but for me Viterbese's Tounkara-Rossi look the more exciting pairing, with the potential to fire them up among Ternana, Catania, Juve Stabia, etc.
Relegation fodder:

Trapani will struggle to see out (or even start) the season, so will likely take 20th place.

Above them, Bisceglie have prepared for a season in Serie D and that's where they will likely be playing next season.
We may well get a few clubs going out of business this season as a belated consequence of Covid.

Several clubs changed ownership this summer, which can often bring issues later.

Clubs relegated from B particularly tend to suffer. Maybe even Padova/Carpi/Novara (2017-18, 18-19).
