This morning, we talked about the challenge of busy, fragmented work life essentially acting seemingly in opposition to practice and attempting to create space in life and slow down, a prompt from @JPDaems 1/
First of all, we agreed that a lot of this pressure is not simply something we solve with meditation - these are structural problems of overwork and the neoliberal rat race. 2/
So, of course the answer is not to 'meditate the pressure away' - we need systemic change and we can all contribute to this. 3/
However, from a pure meditation practice perspective, there is the possibility to see the emptiness in all of this noise, in all these demands placed on us, and have it be less tied up with 'me', greatly lightening the pressure and the worry. 4/
Moreover, we talked about how developing a different relationship to work pressure, developing clear boundaries and opening up space for a less frantic life is also a way to model this toward others, whose urgent demands likely mean that they are under similar pressures. 5/
