as writers, we have the power to choose what we are & are not willing to cover. most publications aren’t going to enforce policies against abusers or problematic people, you can’t expect that. decide for yourself where you stand & don’t budge; a byline isn’t worth your integrity

this starts with you saying NO when asked to cover something/one that doesn’t sit right with you. there have been many situations where i pushed back when an editor tried to get me to cover artists i refused to support. hold yourself to a higher standard when others won’t follow.

we still need diligent reporters handling news to inform the public about what’s going on, but the promotional garbage can see itself all the way out... think critically
