Well, I just nearly got fooled by a scam: watch out for this one, gang. I got this text, and because I& #39;m expecting a delivery (aren& #39;t we all in these days of online shopping?) I tapped through when I should have looked more closely at the URL
That sent me to a very good facsimile of a DPD page, complete with tracking number, and a convincing journey through rebooking a delivery
I was only saved because I am bloody-minded and check every pre-ticked box: what it& #39;s actually doing is signing you up for £43.99 of recurring charges.
I like to think I& #39;m pretty savvy about scams, but this is a sneaky one. It bounced me into doing something - in this case, clicking through while swearing about an apparently buggered-up delivery - and it was only after that that I went back and checked the URL.
I am kicking myself because it& #39;s not that long since I wrote this guide to, er, checking URLs before you click through. Anyway, stay safe out there, kids. There are scamming bastards wanting your money. https://www.which.co.uk/news/2020/04/how-to-spot-and-stop-fake-coronavirus-texts-and-emails/">https://www.which.co.uk/news/2020...
