Hey, twitter ✌️. I'm #iOS #developer. Currently based in the #Netherlands. Recently I've started a new position and for a while, I've wanted to write a thread about my experience with #recrutement #HR. My goal is to share my feelings about the process, with all respect to hrs.
1. Let's start from the beginning when #hr's just reached you. And let's start with the most common approach, which I've seen in the #Netherlands . You can see the two approaches the same, but a little bit different. Actually, I have dozens of these kinds of messages.
2. What's wrong with the approaches, that I've shown in the previous post? There's no opportunity proposal, like at all. I was just asked, am I looking for a new job. That's it...
3. Don't want to be arrogant, but when the last time you've seen a developer who's just looking for a job? If not every day, especially with corona, but every other day I receive a new job interview invitation. What's the chance, that somebody replies to this kind of message?
4. Unfortunately, most of the invitation which I have like this. A lot of polite stuff at the start. Just some generic job proposal and more polite stuff in the end. The funniest thing is that all this politeness and health cheks made from email templates.
5. However, stop with the negative. There are so many talented and brilliant #hr and #recruiters, that definitely have a good first message, which could be taken as an example. I've done this example by myself, for the sake of saving some companies privacy
6. I understand, that some outsource #recruiters really scary to reveal the company name, cause they think, that you just apply directly. In this case, remove the first part, but still try to reveal as much info as you can.
7. I've heard a lot of stories, that #hr's review one CV for the only several seconds. Why do you think, that developers don't do the same with your invitations 😉? What will be in favor? Generic: do you want to find a job? Or the proper introduction to the position?
8. Salary part is the most fun thing. #Hr's like to place some words like "bigger than average" and etc. I'd be most suspicious of those, cause in my experience after these words usually salary's less than average on the market. Please don't waste the time on all sides.
Looks like I've already made some typos such as in #recruitment word. Really sorry for that and hopefully at least in the next decade, @Twitter let us edit our posts 🙏.
