Recalls for library items will be returning from Monday 28th September. As term starts we want as many people to be able to access materials as possible, although we know things are very different right now. So here's what we're planning - a thread 🧵
Firstly - recalls are being reintroduced - and as before, these will come through to your university email account. We'd like you to start renewing items you have on loan which you are still using and to check your inbox for any recall notices or updates.
But we know things are more difficult now, so we're allowing longer to return recalled items. If you receive a recall notice, you'll have 10 days to return the recalled item.
If this isn't possible, don't panic! If you can't return a recalled book by the new date, please let us know as soon as you are able. We won't be fining people for this.
We know many people are unable to come to campus, so as before, we're still happy to receive returned recalled items by post - and our postal returns are still free. Find out how to return library loans for free here: https://bit.ly/33YalU3
If you are requesting an item that is on loan, please be aware that with the longer recall times and the need to quarantine items, it may take up to 14 days before an item will be ready for you.
We'll be reviewing how we manage recalls as the term progresses, but for now, please check you emails, return recalled items if you can and let us know if you have any problems
