Jochen Schneider (Schalke) on McKennie: “First of all, he’s a great football player. He’s still a young kid. He just turned 22. He’s an American international. He’s a warrior on the pitch, and every day he brings so much positive energy into the dressing room. He’s a smart guy."
Lots of really good analysis on McKennie lately, especially his play. When super clubs like Juve come, they focus a lot on personality. Many players have the talent, but get crushed by the pressure and overwhelmed by the attention big clubs receive.
Not trying to psychoanalyze McKennie from the sidelines, but the kid below does not seem to lack for confidence. He wins his coaches over, and his teammates love him. His personality is a huge part of why Juve picked him, and sometimes we forget that.
