I often get some of my wife's friends' names mixed up but in fairness this is just the inner circle: Minhee, Minji, Mijin, Misun, Miho, Soyoung, Gayoung, Giyoung, Jiyoung, Jisun, Jinhee, Boram, Bora.
Minhee is nicknamed Mandu (dumpling) and her sister Mingyoung is also a character in our lives. Sunyoung's sister, Sunmin. Jiyoung's husband, Jinha. In the list above I have also missed Jin, Haeri and Haesun.
This is just the core group of primary, high school and uni friends and doesn't include male friends or that many coworkers. There are also husbands and a rotating cast of Gayoung's hilarious boyfriends.
I know all their names. By contrast, I know few of my wife's extended family by name. There is youngest uncle, drinking uncle, church uncle, sick uncle (recovered now but extremely cynical). The greatest character of all is bee aunt, imprisoned for medical fraud involving bees
