1) I really like writing threads for myself and haven't written one in a long time. This one is about how cheap #Bitcoin actually is at what it does best, ownership.
Below is an image that shows the top 10 military spenders in 2019.
2)Got interrupted. I think we are experiencing the peak results of 1971. ( @WTF_1971 ) While writing this I was sitting next to 2 friends who are newly graduated and are having huge doubts about the future. This is reflecting to every part of their lives and is making them anxious
3) Back to the thread: Top 10 military spenders of 2019 spent 1,430 Trillion dollars on military. If this amount was a GDP, it would be the 13th biggest GDP in the world, surprassing that of Spain. USA military spending alone is more than that of Turkey's GDP. (20th GDP)
4) Essentially, purpose of military spending is to protect property rights. And those property rights are getting more expensive to protect. France spent 50.1 billion in 2019 and their neighbor spent 49.3 billion. These expenditures are basically surges to prevent future clashes.
5) These expenses are also hibernating expenses. It is just a show of power and are barely utilized. They provide near to no future benefit to the economy as well while creating recurring upkeep and maintenance costs.
6) Currently, there are issues between Turkey and Greece at the Mediterranean/Aegean sea. These issues result in military power plays over the region and will end up both countries to spend a higher % of their GDP on military.
7) I am a Turkish citizen living on the Aegean shore and I have travelled to many places and met many people from a lot of different cultures. Greece culture and people are the ones, I personally find the easiest to relate to.
8) I, find these power plays to be absolutely unnecessary and a waste of tax. The main reason why governments collect tax is to provide you and your property safety in return. To ensure property rights and ownership.
10) This question wasn't directed at me but I kept on thinking about it. The way that Turkish government explains the ridiculousness is via conflicts. Every time the Turkish Lira lost value there was a conflict with a neighbor or and internal conflict.
11) Turkey had a lot of internal and external conflicts in the last years. We had so many of them that different layers of Turkish citizens are having a hard time communicating with each other and we ended up becoming a country with no friend nations. As seen @zerohedge
12) So, if there is such a correlation, why does the general public have a hard time understanding the correlation and pressure their governments to gather their acts? Because this is like a chicken and egg question. In this case it looks like inflation is caused by conflicts.
13) Conflicts are portrayed as they are provoked by the enemies of the nation. In Turkey these enemies are called 'Dış Mihraklar' (Foreign Powers). In fact inflation and loss of control over money calls for a need of conflict and the enemy is within.
14) By within, I mean it is the horrible management by the government together with mainstream media manipulation of the public.
15) #Bitcoin fixes this, and by fixes I mean it really fixes and it fixes for cheap. Bitcoin is the strongest proof of ownership the world has seen. Your ownership gets more validated with every discovered block. Every new block adds a new layer of security.
16) Every new layer of security means extra computational power and energy needed to roll back the chain and expose your transaction. At some point it becomes thermodynamically (theoretically yes, but practically no) impossible to re-organize the chain.
17) These properties above makes the #bitcoin network the best ownership tool in the world. No other ownership method can ensure you a proof of ownership that gets stronger over time without any further fees. Other ownership protections require constant payments aka taxes.
18) How bitcoin fixes this is that, once Bitcoin manages to absorb enough value onto the chain. It can literally make other forms of ownerships irrelevant.
19) One #bitcoin will always be one #bitcoin . If a house that is worth $2 million today is worth 0.01 Bitcoin in the future people would spend more energy to secure that Bitcoin instead of securing the house.
20) Less energy needed to secure the homes means less energy needed to secure the borders of a country and that means it becomes pointless to spend this much on military and other ways of securing property. #Bitcoin fixes issue of ownership and the taxation and military spending
