hello. this thread doesn't have the point to offence anyone. i guarantee you, it has nothing with racism, offensive words or demotivation. i just spill out my opinion. thank you for understanding!
a lot of new kpop groups debut every single year. the kpop companies have a big choice between thousands of candidates - talented or not, koreans or not. now i'll talk more about the non-korean auditioners.
i, as a non-korean fan, wonder sometimes if i'd handle all the popularity, hate and pressure around being a kpop idol. the answer is always - no. and why? lemme say in the next slides!
1. if you want to be a kpop idol, you should fit korean standarts. height, weight, visuals, singing, dancing. the criterias are strong and the judges are strict. maybe around 10% of the auditioners actually become trainees. that's not a lot, it's even demotivating at some point.
2. the definition of "kpop idol" is "korean pop idol". i repeat - KOREAN. if you want to be a kpop idol, you HAVE TO BE KOREAN. there's 0% chance a stable company to take you as a trainee if you ain't korean. if they do, you should be ready for a lot of hate and breakdowns +
i can guarantee you. you can't be a successful kpop idol if you ain't korean. it just looks and sounds weird. i have one more point to talk about: the difference in the genes. asian genes aren't the same with other races'. companies search for korean stereotypes.
i, as an european, can say here the people have nothing in common with asians, especially koreans. korean people's genes are different. the hairs, the weight, the height. here, if a 30 y/o woman is 45kg, we think she is an anorexic. in korea, that's normal. +
+ the same goes for height. koreans are naturally shorties, while europeans and other races, are taller. that's a fact. it's not offensive to be short or tall. it's normal. you're a human. but DO NOT try to fit any standarts. God gave you looks. use them, be proud of them.
if you want to be an idol - do it in your unique way. success without any connections, without a company judging you. work to do something original. be yourself. speak yourself. thank you ๐Ÿค
