Broadcasting networks need to understand that former Sporting Greats don& #39;t necessarily make good Commentators/Presenters.

It requires a completely different skillset to present the game to the viewers and that former player might not necessarily be good at that (Cont..)
It is important for commentators to have good knowledge & understanding of the game but the skills of presenting the game in an understandable manner to the viewers is also necessary, along with ensuring that the comments made aren& #39;t derogatory, offensive or disrespectful (Cont.)
There have been multiple times of late when many former sportsmen have crossed the line while being on air.

Some of them even manage to mess up the player names. It might look like a very small thing but it& #39;s an important part of the job. You can& #39;t come unprepared for it(cont.)
It& #39;s high time that broadcasting networks turned to people who are qualified and more professional while commentating on the game.

There should be certain rules to appoint them. On-field reputation shouldn& #39;t be considered as enough to make it to the commentary box
