I've seen so many bad sex and sex toy habits on my timeline. So I'm going to create a master tweet of some of the things I learned while working at Adam & Eve, that I think will be useful to all of you. I did most of this research myself, so correct me or recommend things to add!
stop using soap on your toys! if they're silicone it'll dry them out & leave a residue that's not bag friendly, if they're tpe/tpr it could ruin them! try this body safe, antimicrobial, unscented, pH balanced toy & body cleaner instead! just spray on and wipe off for toys & skin
some materials like TPE can fuse together if they're stored in the same place for too long, so you want to make sure to always have some sort of material between your toys. these anti-bacterial bags are awesome for that but you should still always wash toys before using them
if you're sensitive & lubes make you burn or itch, try these! They're unscented, vegan, medical grade, pH balanced & amazing. I love the silk because it can be used for all activities but the H2O is awesome if you're sensitive to silicone!
while on the topic of silicone lubes, SOME silicone lube is safe with silicone toys. If both products are high quality, you & your toy will likely be fine. But materials like TPE (many toys are mixed w it) melt w/ sucone lube so always patch test a small spot if you're not sure!
& when it comes to flavored lubes, always try to avoid sugar and glycerin if you're using them vaginally, both ingredients can cause yeast infections! these top two common brands are ones you should avoid, but I highly recommend the bottom two!!
if you're sensitive to latex please be aware, polyurethane condoms such as skyns and magnums are great for protecting against pregnancy but are not effecting at protecting against UTI so make sure you and your sexual partners are getting tested!!
I'll say it a million times, DONT but your toys from Amazon, it's not worth the risk! Some reputable brands sell through Amazon, but there's also a lot of third party sellers. You could get toys that aren't body safe, are defective, or are used. Try this website instead!!
for the dick havers: don't buy a Fleshlight! they're overpriced, they have no cool features, they're sticky, & the hard case doesn't allow for any suction. These are some of the best strokers for maximum sensation (the first ones by Tenga)
also for the penis havers, I could make an entirely separate post about penis pumps BUT: they only make your penis longer if you use them regularly, they're best used for ED, do your research before you use one, follow instructions, & get a water pump if you can afford it
don't use numbing anal products!!! this ones so important, if you can't feel pain & you tear something, you could literally get sepsis and die. Don't take the risk. Try the Pjur analyse lube, it uses humectants to bring moisture to the skin & make it more elastic instead!
when it comes to metal cock rings: ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS measure yourself erect multiple times to be sure to get the right size before purchasing one. If you do not, you'll be having an awkward conversation with the surgeon who has to remove it.
I'm probably going to make an entirely separate thread about butt plugs & anal because there's so much to be said. But if you can afford it, get a stainless steel plug, it's hypoallergenic & can be used with any lube. Plus it's comfier than silicone because it less porous!
one more, if your butt it is see through or shiny (and it's not metal or glass) THRPW IT OUT!! These toys are usually made from TPE/TPR which are highly porous material! They collect lots of bacteria & getvmicrotears over time. They also can't be used with silicone lube
I know I'm forgetting some stuff I wanted to say but Im tired asf so I'll pin the original tweet & continue to add to this thread in the upcoming days!!
