My Happy Friday email to staff: Yesterday I walked past our Chapel Choir in rehearsal. When I try to say how that beautiful sound moves me, I really can’t find earthly words. There those children are: standing apart, socially distant, a huge space, not facing and not together...

But that sound! They sound like togetherness, they sound like unity and their song was an anthem for me- about how we are stronger, when we are together. I know we are feeling the distance; the silos, the staff bases, the masks- but you are finding ways to help each other anyway

Your support for each other and for me is invaluable. Like our Chapel Choir, we are togetherness and unity. We were described on social media this week as the ‘mighty MAA team’ as ‘impressive, determined and so true to the mission’ I felt so proud to read this, knowing it's true

So, my mighty MAA team, let our corridors ring with the sound of our anthem; that we are here to transform lives of children, that we are the team bringing them the education they deserve, that we care for each other and that makes us this strong, beautiful unit. Happy Friday!
