I made a thread/explanation about why cancelling ssd is harmful and won’t actually help with anything. Do you promise to read it with open mindedness, argue intelligently, and not just attack without content?
First thing’s first, i can respect chadwick’s passing, sympathize with w00j’ victims, believe them, and post an SSD at the same time. The above issues/tragedy have no correlation with SSD and cancelling SSD for them won’t actually help and won’t disrespect the above issues.
Doing something on behalf of a cause that doesn’t actually make a difference is performative activism.
why it is actually harmful:
why it is actually harmful:
Tw// sexual abuse
for the sexual abuse victims, cancelling SSD is trivial and unhelpful for the matter. Fighting for the victims is not a trend, it’s a fully operating movement. You have to be involved with intention.

Now, what are you doing for these matters when you cancelled SSD.
Nothing? Then cancelling SSD and cancelling everyone who did it just doesn’t make sense as you’re not actually doing something beneficial to your cause.

If we’re gonna cancel SSD for worldly happenings, corruption, and evil then it’s better to not do an SSD at ALL because these won’t stop happening.
What we can do is strive to dismantle how the corrupt society is built, stop trivializing issues and use the privilege and voice that we have to push one another, educate, and create change.
If we cancel our little joys for all the worldly evil there is or if anything bad happens, trust me, we won’t have anything left.
