ALBUM COVERS THAT PERFECTLY MATCH THE MUSIC: A THREAD

some album art, whether simple or elaborate, sum up the theme and mood of an album- here are some of my favorites
1. To Pimp a Butterfly
what draws me to this cover most is that it is taken in front of the white house, symbolizing how kendrick is calling for change in our country, beginning with unity in his community. there are also hints at prevalent themes in tpab such as money (1/2)
over the course of the album, a naive kendrick encounters many antagonist characters (uncle sam and lucy) who represent the institutionalized racism in america and its effect on both individuals and communities. this is what is being represented on the cover.
2. Some Rap Songs
one of the simplest covers, but perfect. the album presents earl in a haze, stumbling through the days with his thoughts spinning much like the looping instrumentals. it feels like a blur in its brevity, making the cover a perfect depiction of its calm chaos
