One thing I like about @OneNoteEDU: Ss don't click a submit button by a due date. I tell mine, "The due date states when I might start grading the assignment. If there's no grade listed in the grade book yet, tho, you can still work on the page, if needed, whatever your reason."
For some kids, that due date sometimes represents the give-up day. Obviously there are limits, & don't want to encourage habitual procrastination, but for me, a digital workflow by its very nature provides the opportunity to think differently about due dates...
If it is due on Friday, I probably won't start looking over it til Sunday, and it'll take 2 to 3 days to get through a hundred copies of the assignment, what is the point in sticking to a rigid turn-in-physical-papers mentality when I exist in a digital, paperless workflow...
