1/ It feels amazing to lead someone interested in #Bitcoin to their Aha! moment.

My 82-year-old Grandpa recently had his: “I hadn’t thought about it like that. Wow. That actually makes a lot of sense.”

What story worked for him?

Turns out a dash of empathy goes a long way:
2/ Many of us grew up in the US and have been blessed with the dollar as the world reserve currency our entire lives.

It’s hard for us to imagine life without it. Why would we ever need anything else?

A version of this thought path is true for most in ~G7 countries.
3/ BUT, 54% of the world’s population — 4.2 billion people — are living under some form of authoritarian regime. (HRF)

Think about that. More people live in an authoritarian regime than a democratic one.

That flippening was recent and is concerning. Especially for tech ethics.
4/ That means half of the planet can’t trust their government to manage a sound economy & stable currency or provide national security & infrastructure.

Their reality and expectation may be that their assets, livelihood, and physical health could be upended at a moment’s notice.
5/ For those living that reality, #Bitcoin is a vote for freedom. It’s a way out of that regime.

It’s a potential path to prosperity for the billions that aren’t blessed with the $, €, ¥, £, …
6/ For some, it’s a literal vote for freedom.

For others, it’s an insurance policy against the devaluing of their fiat currency.

For everyone, #Bitcoin ’s is a step toward a more meritocratic world.

It’s a key piece in the Trust Revolution.
7/ The potential for positive societal change is incredible.

It’s an opportunity to leverage technology to empower humanity ... not the other way around. (ie not addictive, toxic, and identity-stealing)

It could be almost like antibiotics for economic health.
8/ Now, we’re not there yet. This is one story about one technology. Something different clicks for each person interested in the space.

But our North Star is a more trusted and meritocratic world. #Bitcoin is the first of many steps on a multi-decade journey toward that vision.
9/ In the spirit of Ikigai, that sounds a lot like something the world needs.
