As a Palestinian American who identifies heavily with the progressive values of @AOC it is unacceptable to me that she would commemorate Rabin, who:
1. Forced Palestinians on death marches in 1948.
2. Ordered the IDF to break the arms of Palestinian children during the Intifada.

I strongly urge @AOC to listen to Palestinian voices. I heard thousands of people cheer when you mentioned justice in Palestine in February of this year, when you campaigned for Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire. Palestinians and our allies want justice.
Justice is not whitewashing the legacy of a war criminal, who is fondly remembered in the West for signing a “peace” deal (AKA Oslo) which has not only *not* brought peace to Palestinians, but has made their humanitarian and political situation even worse.
Justice is not valuing symbolic political gestures that did nothing but make American politicians feel good, while Palestinians continued to live in a ghettoized, apartheid system maintained by military occupation.
Progressivism is about people, not politicians.

I am not anyone important enough for @AOC to probably even respond to, let alone listen to. But the future of progressive politics is clear. Its justice for Palestinians. @AOC should not commemorate Rabin and should instead engage with real people; most importantly, Palestinians.
"The order to ethnically cleanse the area of Arabs came straight from Rabin, who directed that they all “must be expelled quickly without regard to age.” What followed was the forced mass exodus of some 80,000 Palestinians.." https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/07/16/the-lydda-death-march-and-the-israeli-state-of-denial/">https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/07/1...
Israeli colonel on trial in 1990 says that beating Palestinians was “part of the accepted norm in that period” and that Rabin gave the orders to break the bones of Palestinians as punishment.
