"My niche lifestyle choice is being discriminated against, does this mean I'm oppressed??"
Well, yes, but not for the reason you might think. Here's my fucking thread:

Imma use three examples in here that all tie back to the PluralGang discourse: furries, fandom, and witchcraft

PluralGang, you are not discriminated against for being plural. I get why you want to be, because it gives you control
Being discriminated against for a lifestyle decision is WAY easier than being discriminated against for just existing the way you do with no way to stop it >>

But the truth is, you guys need to understand that people out there don't hate you for being plural, they hate you for being disordered, LGBT, neurodivergent, AFAB
They hate you, most of all, for being disabled
And that really fucking sucks, it's scary and sad, but to try >>

to call it pluralphobia and not ableism will only take attention away from people with disordered plurality, and will inevitably turn the invalidation and hostility onto us: people who already have a controversial disorder that doesn't need your lifestyle making it worse >>
So just call it what it is. Ableism towards people with DID/OSDD, and be a fucking ally
A flamboyant straight male ally recognizes that he's not discriminated for being flamboyant, he's discriminated for being gay

feel like they can attack you for that, because bullying disabled people is still somehow okay in the year of our lord 2020
It's misdirected ableism
So just call it what it is and recognize that you aren't as affected by it as actual disordered people are, thanks
