The sheer scale of the loss of university teaching over the past three years has been seriously downplayed. Teaching was disrupted so much even before the pandemic because of strike action - to those who don’t realise this, student upset may *seem* disproportionate...
But honestly? Students could react as angrily/emotionally/strongly as they like and it would still be justified imo. I really don’t feel the general public appreciate that whole terms (adding up to FULL ACADEMIC YEARS) have been lost to strike action and the pandemic
Usual caveats, I supported striking staff while I was a student, etc etc, but if we’re just looking at students’ experience over the past three years or so - it’s an incredibly fragmented and different experience to what it ought to have been
