1) Really appalled at the Christians justifying the arrests in Moscow, ID yesterday.

The two main justifications I have read:

1) They’re part of Doug Wilson’s church. They’re not Christians.
2) It was a publicity stunt. They knew they were violating city safety regulations.
2) So many things. There are certainly things with which I disagree from the CREC. Some of which I think can become serious issues if not fully articulated and fleshed out; however, while I sometimes find certain explanations unclear, Doug Wilson has explicitly stated that he
3) believes in justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and so have his elders. Be careful whom you anathematize.
ANOTHER THING— let’s say it was a group of Muslims praying and performing a call to prayer, and they were arrested. I would still be
4) horrified. You see, there are a number of concerning things regarding the type of arrests that took place. Firstly, this was indeed a demonstration. A demonstration against the unconstitutional regulations put in place across the country. There is a time for civil
5) disobedience, and were we wise to history, we would recognize that it is now, not later.
Secondly, the inconsistency of arrests and citations across the country should be suspect. While police in certain cities are told not to engage with mass rioters, looters, and protesters
6) with left-leaning convictions, we see here protesters with right-leaning convictions arrested despite the precedence being set for other movements in similar—if not more overt—violation of public health regulations.
What we are seeing is selective silencing of groups. If the
7) government were to arrest a group of Muslim demonstrators, I would speak out because those protesters have the right to peacefully assemble, have the right to choose not to wear masks, have the right to express their religious beliefs, and you know what?
8) I’d say, in that situation, “If they’re coming for the Muslims, they’ll be coming for me.”
