I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately— and a shout out to @scottsix who regularly points out media issues like this. I think I have come to the conclusion that the Times another night media want Trump to win. It is a constant news cycle and sells papers. (1) https://twitter.com/mattmfm/status/1309109513031757824
It is, plainly, good for the media business. The @nytimes has bragged that its subscriptions etc are up during the Trump era. What happens when (if) things go back to normal without the drama? Do we still want to pay for the subscription? (2)
I think the answe is... maybe. So, the @nytimes buried what I believe to be the most consequential statement of the Trump presidency: that the election is rigged and he is not committed to the peaceful transition of power. (3)
Such statements have so many consequences and it should be the lead story with 4 other stories discussing. It is literally the core of our way of life and our economy. Trump’s threatened actions would be catastrophic. (End)
