Rabin was responsible for much more (he was the architect of the Lydda Death March) but peace requires a willingness to accept the bloodied past and move forward

We’d never stop fighting otherwise because lord knows Arafat and co. were responsible for their fair share of misery https://twitter.com/alexbkane/status/1309238730583158786
Accepting Rabin turning into a martyr for peace is not easy, he was clearly no saint, but if this mythos provides an ideological icon for future Israelis that pushes them towards a better way then I’d say it’s well worth the price.
We need to pick our fights better, if even the darling of the Israeli Peace Camp is attacked then what hope do we have of convincing Israelis of peace?

Accept the martyr for peace narrative and move forward, your fight lies with the Likudniks and the settlers, not Rabin
