Texas is 3rd in COVID deaths behind only NY and NJ. Yet people are not excoriating Abbott for this. Why? We lead California which is more than the population of Texas and NJ combined. New cases over last 7 days per CDC: TX leads at 44k, California is 2nd with 24k. Questions:

1) Why isn't Abbott getting absolutely killed in polls for this?
2) Why didn't Abbott leverage his states importance to GOP for greater resources/testing?
3) Abbott had benefit of seeing NY/NJ play out before TX had the crush of July/August. Why didn't he learn from them?

4) Does Texas have a function like Special Counsel/Special Prosecutor to investigate all failures in Texas response so we do not repeat this fiasco? Can the #txlege investigate? CC @RafaelAnchia @poncho_nevarez @SarahforHD134 @DonnaHowardTX?
