If this was 20 years ago, I worry @RishiSunak would have cost the UK so much more than he's giving.

I think he's about to cost the UK lots more.

I know it's a hard job, I wouldn't want it. I also think it's unlikely they will ever offer it to me. And he seems nice. But...

I know the arts *sounds* pathetic when other places make physical things you can put in shops for money. But live music brings in like a £billion a year. It leads to exports. Whether you love @edsheeran or not, Ed paid for some of your road, and we've just lost the next Ed.

And then @coldplay helped pay for your kid's school. 21 years ago they were rehearsing. Panto pays for parks. The £101 billion that theatre chipped in each year went into our welfare system and housing. Ballerinas bought you bollards. And Gary Barlo - ok, actually, sssh

The point is, it's clear there's no support to help the next Ed, Coldplay, the next great West End export, the next entire industry of talent, comedians, artists, creatives, tech ops, lighting designers, directors to do what they need to do to end up paying for our bollards.

Same is true of many jobs today. I know it's hard for Rishi. Maybe Tories enjoy culture but think it's free or silly, like Kings with jesters. To not *actively* help the next multi-£billion generation is a crazy cultural sacrifice. Come on, Rishi. It's not all about #Pret.
