A thread on @helium $HNT which was added to Binance today. Not investment advice, I just think its potential is enormous and want to share what I know. Buckle up and grab some Cheetos as this might get long.

What is Helium? It’s a global network of hotspots that use
“LongFi” instead of WiFi. Its very low bandwidth so you won’t be uploading your OnlyFans content. It’s about the Internet of Things.

Under optimal conditions, LongFi can reach kilometers away. Those who host the Helium hotspots and provide bandwidth are rewarded in HNT
tokens. Those who want to USE the Helium network must burn HNT for Data Credits. It’s a mint and burn model which I love, especially considering the massive TAM Helium is going after.

Helium and LongFi enable connectivity for the trillions of IoT and low bandwidth requirement
devices that are coming our way. There’s a reason Amazon just introduced Amazon Sidewalk (look it up if you haven’t heard) and the bad news for them is, now that Helium has opened up their network to 3rd party hardware providers, Amazon is going to be racing to catch up. And
even if they do, the TAM is going to be gargantuan; there’s plenty to go around and many will choose to route through a decentralized network rather than Amazon.
Helium emissions are about 5 million HNT per month. Their hotspots have been selling out as fast as they can make them so those 5 million HNT were being split among less than 10,000 hotspot owners. But that all just changed. Helium has now opened up to 3rd party hardware and
people are buying those up in droves. This means those 5 million HNT are going to get split among far more hotspot owners. In order for owning a hotspot to be profitable, the price is going to need to go up. It’s sorta like Bitcoin mining.

Who has invested in Helium? They
finished their C round and it’s a who’s who of VCs. Yes, yes, I know some of you hate VC but there isn’t a huge supply of VC tokens about to be dumped on you. The circulating supply is 43.5 million and total supply is 49.7 million.

For Helium, it’s all about community. I know
community, it’s my specialty. And I strongly suggest going to Helium’s Discord. It may be the best one I’ve ever seen. It is a truly impressive group of builders who help newcomers quickly and efficiently.

Truly an exciting network to watch.
