Why you lose respect from others.

Avoid these 7 common mistakes.

// THREAD //
1. You take others time for granted

Whether you are meeting a friend, going to a gym lesson or have a scheduled call… Not being on time shows a lack of responsibility. Sooner or later, they will start disrespecting your time too. The world doesn’t revolve around you.
2. You don’t take responsibility

Your brain can play tricks on you. It can blind you from admitting when you are wrong. And others will then see you as being challenging or over controlling. You don't gain anything by blaming others. Accepting your wrongdoings is appreciated.
3. You talk too much

No one likes over talkers. You will think “That went great”, while they think “Glad it’s over”. When you talk too much, “smoke” gets into your eyes and ears. Be more attentive and hold your tongue. Speak only when there is a reason.
4. You complain

"The weather isn't good", "I don't like my job", "I am not happy". No one cares. Successful people don't like to hangout out with complainers. Everyone has bad days. But don't transmit this negativity to others. The more you complain, they less they respect you.
5. You are too nice

You shouldn't always be doing everything for others. How does trying to make everyone happy help you? Doing so might even make others see you as not being genuine. Saying “no” more often shows that you value your time. So start valuing your own time.
6. You don’t keep your word

You plan something or have a deadline. Yet, the day arrives and its “I won’t be able to see you today” or “I haven’t done it yet”. Your word loses worth. Breaking promises leads to “I’m sorry”. Those that have to apologise often don’t earn respect.
7. You put others down

Interrupting when others speak or not giving others a chance won't benefit you. Make others see you with "leadership eyes" by standing up for them. Give others freedom. Respect doesn't come from being the best, but from understanding humility. Stay humble.
