ya ya ya separate fiction from reality. we can all be entertained in some way by something that can be seen as "problematic" bc thats conflict and at the crux of the story. but i mean ppl could have personal situations similar enough to be upset about that character and story

so yea its fiction but it reminds them of their reality or something very personal so their reaction is going to be stronger than yours

there are many problematic parts in stories where i can go yiKES and then continue on w my day but there are some situations where i cant so i dont see a reason to be mad at the people who want to talk about how much they cant stand said problematic thing

no one is trying to change anything or saying anything about the other fans in terms of being cancelled or whatever u think it is. odds usually are that ppl are expressing their discontent on something in reality by "hating" on these problematic parts in fiction
