👉 If using Twitter frustrates you, you're using Twitter wrong.

Twitter has changed my life in so many ways, and it's because I use this tool the right way. Here is how.

Thread. 👇
1: Ignore Twitter's follow recommendations.

Don't blindly follow people. Instead, look at their latest tweets. See what they've pinned. Read a few of their replies to other people.

Only follow people who add value to your life.
2: Don't follow-for-follow.

If you unfollow people because they don't follow you, then you're wasting your time and energy. Twitter isn't some status symbol.
3: Unfollow people who clutter up your timeline with hate.

Your timeline is more important than you think. If it's bombarded with hate, that's KILLING your enjoyment of Twitter.

And, it's probably also making you an unhappy person.

Unfollow hate.
4: Use lists.

Organize those whom you follow into lists.

For example, you might have a list for:

- Money
- Fitness
- Mindset
- Travel

Lists help you focus on the content that you're motivated to engage with at any given time.

And, this leads me to my next point.
5: Engage with profiles that you like.

Don't just read and like. Comment. Retweet.

Engagement is what makes Twitter so much fun to use. đź‘Š

Consider DMing accounts you love the most. Tell them how much you enjoy their tweets.

Share the love.
6: Ignore or block trending topics.

Trending topics add no positive value.

Either ignore them or use a browser plugin (such as https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hide-twitter-trends/lapmncfnibdclongbkleadoicnkhknia?hl=en) to remove that section from Twitter's interface.

Here is what my "Trending topics" area looks like.
7: Stop arguing.

Even if you "win", arguing on social media is pathetic.

It's not your job, or mine, to change people's minds. So, stop trying.
