A light thread, for fun, to balance out the doomscrolling: two years ago I found this odd object (later determined to be a salt & pepper holder) on the street in front of my house.

I immediately named him Sharkey. I was about to take my first post-divorce vacation with my son, and I asked Twitter if I should take Sharkey along too. Twitter responded with an enthusiastic yes.

And so Sharkey visited Tower Bridge.

Sharkey had coffee with Arthur Darvill @rattyburvil, of Doctor Who and Legends of Tomorrow fame.

And then it was on to Paris.
